Introducing In Situ’s 2023-24 Undergraduate Trainees

In Situ Lab introduces nine new/continuing bright and hard-working undergraduate trainees for 2023-2024.

Kevin Nguyen, BScH ‘25 (HSCI 591 Health Sciences Research: Design and Methods)

Kevin is in his third year of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. He is currently completing the HSCI 591 Research Course under the supervision of Dr. Lee in the In Situ Lab. His research is focused on investigating the holistic impacts of electric vehicles and active transportation on population health. A focus is placed on understanding the implications of these two models of transportation on urban infrastructure development and movement behaviours. Kevin is an avid soccer player, and he hopes to pursue an education in medicine after completing his undergraduate degree.

Mia Carbone, BScH ’25 (Research volunteer)

Mia is currently in her third year as a biology student with a GIS certificate at Queen’s University. She is actively engaged in her academic journey by volunteering as an Undergraduate Trainee in the In Situ Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Lee. Her primary focus involves researching the multifaceted intersections of health-related issues through the analysis of quantitative data. With a passion for understanding the complex relationships between environmental factors and human well-being, Mia envisions building on this foundation by pursuing a Master's degree in Public Health upon graduation. She aims to further contribute to the field and address public health challenges through her research studies. 

Celina Lovisotto, BAH ’24 (HLTH/KNPE 595/6.0 Honours Thesis)

Celina Lovisotto is currently in her fourth year at Queen’s University, pursuing a degree in Health Studies along with a Certificate in Business. She is currently completing a HLTH 595 Honours Thesis Project under the supervision of Dr. Lee in the In Situ Lab. Her research investigates the associations of physical activity and trauma recovery, with a primary focus on play and nature to formulate a connection among Active Outdoor Play. With a passion for sustainability and social impact, Celina aims to formulate a connection among health and business through pursuing a Master’s of International Business.
